This was definitely the coldest I have been while taking pictures of anything! When we started, the sun was out and we actually got a little warm running all over the bunny slope. Carie and Pat are getting married in Phoenix (Peoria, actually) in April and wanted a unique engagement guestbook to use for their wedding so we made the drive up to the Arizona Snowbowl in Flagstaff to take their engagement photos on Valentine’s Day. Nate and I took turns coming up with ideas for how we would take photos. With snow and slopes, it definitely adds to the challenge! Normally all we have to do is figure out our camera settings and pay attention to how the couple looks, but on a slippery mountain, we needed to think ahead. We had to plan out each set of photos that we wanted to take but this made the day more fun for us! We seriously can’t believe how awesome it is that we get to work with the coolest couples ever! I am so excited for 2009 because of this. Pat had Carie’s snowboard custom designed with things that she loved. You can see the tire tread pattern on the bottom of the board behind her name – freakin’ sweet. This past weekend we had the pleasure of photographing Melanie and Brad’s wedding in Anthem. This was our first wedding at Anthem Country Club and we had a blast! It was actually kind of cold… We started the day off by meeting Melanie at her house to take some pictures of everyone getting ready for the day. We took Melanie and her bridesmaids into the desert to take some portraits of Melanie and some group photos of the ladies. Shortly after we finished with them, we went and grabbed Brad and his groomsmen for some pictures. We took the guys down to the practice green and snapped a couple of pictures during what seemed like the day’s only sunshine. It was supposed to rain during the day but as far as I know it didn’t start until we were leaving the reception. The ceremony was beautiful, and we took the family formals directly after the ceremony. We took Melanie and Brad out for some sunset photos near the driving range which ended up being a great spot.
