We are psyched to post these wedding pictures. Since we began shooting weddings in 2006. We have been showing a little “sneak peak” of each couples’ photos to everyone at their wedding reception on our 24″ iMac. We are always watching the guests reaction to the photos when we first start the slideshow. Usually, we begin the slideshow after dinner while some of the guests begin dancing and mingling around the reception area. We’ve become familiar with the typical reaction from the bride and groom, the family, and so on. Lauren and Ed’s wedding is definitely one of the exceptions. We have never (well, maybe 2 other times) received the reaction to our work like we did this past Saturday at Moon Valley. Everyone was so excited about the photos, which was surprising because most of the guests were outside enjoying the hand-rolled cigars (thank you to Willy Cigars from Chandler) and we weren’t expecting most of the guest to even see the pictures. But the brides’ smile was a bit bigger than usual, and we LOVE IT when we get that reaction! Saturday was a good day. Thank you Lauren and Ed for allowing us to celebrate with you!! Congratulations to both of you…

Here are a few of the sunset photos we took at Shelley and Tom’s wedding in early November. This was the second time we had umbrellas to shoot with so we took advantage of those – thanks to Tim Boyd. We’ve always kept our equipment bags as simple as possible to avoid having too many options to distract us from getting great shots, but diffusers make such a huge difference in the quality of that light. I am quickly becoming a huge fan of light modifiers and have become obsessed looking online at all of the options. Nate and I (Tim S) photographed a wedding at Montelucia Resort for the first time yesterday. It is one of the newest resorts in Scottsdale, actually Paradise Valley, and is a picture perfect location for a wedding and reception. There is a beautiful chapel and bride’s room that was designed specifically for weddings. Other than the 108 degree weather, their day couldn’t have been any better. Christina and Dan are such a great couple and because everyone was so relaxed, we were able to capture some great moments throughout their day. (By the way, if you are planning a wedding in this area during June, July or August, think about hiring someone to follow you around with a portable air conditioner to keep you cool.) Luckily, they were handing out cooled, wet cloths for everyone to put on their faces and necks – awesome. There is an amazing spa at Montelucia where we stopped for a few photos of the couple. We walked up the huge spiral staircase, taking pictures of them along the way, finishing on the top where Nate took the crazy photo with the cool flare. We can’t wait to shoot another wedding at this sweet venue.

Can’t believe that it’s already been over a year since we met up with Holland and John in Sedona, Arizona to take their engagement photos. The year went by so quickly, it’s hard to believe that their wedding is already over. If you didn’t get a chance to view their slideshow, click the following link –> Phoenix Wedding Photography. We spent alot of time with Holland and John talking about their wedding day schedule so we would have plenty of time to take all of the photos that they wanted. We were able to get so many pictures in before their ceremony actually happened because they were willing to see each other. We planned a “reveal moment” just after the two of them were finished getting ready so that they looked their best! On April 18, 2009 we had the privilege of spending the day with Jaimee and Thomas at SunRidge Canyon in Fountain Hills. We had so much time to spend with the two of them on their wedding day which was perfect for us to capture so many different shots. We were able to do 2 separate “sunset sessions” with them because we got to go out right before the sun was setting, and then we got to go back out once the sun was already down. It was perfect. Here are some shots that Nate and I (Tim S) did last month for a super amazing couple. This was definitely one of the funnest weddings we have ever been a part of. I don’t know if “funnest” is a real word or not, but you get the point. We had a good time! We will have a slideshow up very soon but for now, just a taste…

You might remember Carie & Patrick’s engagement photos from a couple of months ago that were taken in Flagstaff, in the snow. They were married on April 4, 2009. It was great to spend the morning with them on their wedding day. We met Carie and the ladies at a salon for some getting ready pictures at around 7 am and then headed over to the Old Town Wedding and Event Center for their family formals and Ceremony. I was super bummed when I realized that I wouldn’t be able to photograph Elizabeth and Josiah’s wedding on March 14.  I met up with some friends early on Monday morning, about 5 days before their wedding, to play basketball.  Two of the guys had to help me into the truck because I injured my back.  I knew on Wednesday that I would have to miss their wedding. About four days later I was able to start walking again.  I knew that this couple had spent alot of time and energy trying to find their wedding photographer.  When we met with them, you could tell that they were excited about their wedding and the plans that they had already made.  Their wedding day was going to be awesome, unique, and most of all, about them.  Nate, Mr. Boyd, and Jonnyboy did a great job photographing this amazing wedding.  After looking through these pictures, I was even more sad that I couldn’t make it.  Maybe I can do another session with them, just so I can take some pictures of them myself…

This past weekend we had the pleasure of photographing Melanie and Brad’s wedding in Anthem.  This was our first wedding at Anthem Country Club and we had a blast!  It was actually kind of cold… We started the day off by meeting Melanie at her house to take some pictures of everyone getting ready for the day.  We took Melanie and her bridesmaids into the desert to take some portraits of Melanie and some group photos of the ladies.  Shortly after we finished with them, we went and grabbed Brad and his groomsmen for some pictures.  We took the guys down to the practice green and snapped a couple of pictures during what seemed like the day’s only sunshine.  It was supposed to rain during the day but as far as I know it didn’t start until we were leaving the reception.  The ceremony was beautiful, and we took the family formals directly after the ceremony.  We took Melanie and Brad out for some sunset photos near the driving range which ended up being a great spot.  You can see some more of their wedding photos by watching their slideshow by clicking the following link: anthem wedding photography.  Check out some of our favorites…
