Please feel free to email us if there is anything that could be added to this wedding photography information.

Wedding day coverage by two professional photographers

Why two wedding photographers are better than one!

One of the most important things that I learned early in my career as a Scottsdale wedding photographer was to always take an assistant photographer with me to every event if it was a possibility. I remember the first (and last!) wedding that I photographed by myself. I was in the middle of the wedding reception and for a few minutes I couldn't find any of the photos from the wedding ceremony on my camera. It appeared as though those photos had disappeared. I rushed to the restroom where I got on my knees and prayed. I thought that I had lost all of the photos that I had taken earlier that day. I recalled all of the work that I had just done to get all of the formal family photos that the couple requested. I remember thinking that I was going to have to tell the couple that I didn't have any of the wedding ceremony photos. I imagined asking them to do the entire ceremony again just so I could get those photos again! This was absolutely the worst feeling to have at a wedding! Since that day, I made a decision to take another wedding photographer with me whenever I could. So, we shoot as a team. This is so important on your wedding day because not only do you have an automatic backup of your wedding photos, you also have a 2nd angle on most, if not all of the moments that happen at your wedding.

Digital Wedding Photography

Why digital photography rocks!

As you can probably tell by that last little story, we photograph weddings with professional digital cameras. This has become the industry standard and you will probably have a hard time finding a wedding photographer who only shoots film. Every now and then, I come across a few wedding photographers who still use film, but it isn't typical. There are a few benefits to hiring a digital wedding photographer. Because we use digital cameras, we take an unlimited number of photographs on your wedding day. We shoot until you leave, or our time is up. We end up with more pictures to look through and are able to deliver more awesome images to you. We definitely don't make it easy for you to pick out your photos for your wedding album. When you consider how long it will take you to go through all 600-800 wedding photos to pick out your favorite 60-80 images for your wedding album, it gets a bit overwhelming. It takes some time, but we give you 3 months to do it, and that is usually plenty of time. Another benefit of hiring a digital wedding photographer is that the quality of the final product. With today's image editing software, like Photoshop, Aperture, or Lightroom, the artistic control that wedding photographers have in post-processing is virtually limitless. You can process a wedding photograph 100 different ways and each of them could be awesome. This is one area that we excel over other scottsdale wedding photographers. [This is where we get to the part about digital photography rocking!] Just take a look at our wedding photography portfolio and see for yourself. With experience in graphic and web design, we have been learning and using the latest software to process digital images for over 10 years now.

Reception Slideshow

Of your wedding photographs! Yeah, that's right, the ones we took earlier that day

If you have spent any time looking through our wedding photography slideshows, you might have noticed many sunset photographs of our wedding couples. A typical wedding ceremony for us, begins in the late afternoon which makes sunset photos attainable at most of the weddings we photograph. Immediately following these sunset photos, one your photographers will sit down and look through all of the pictures taken that day and pick out about 40-50 of our favorite images to display in a slideshow. We will use a laptop to present a wedding photography slideshow to everyone at your reception. We will set the laptop up on a small table in one of the corners and let it play throughout the remainder of your wedding reception. It gets even better. To show your photos to friends and family that couldn't be at your wedding, we put that same reception slideshow on our website about 2-3 days after your wedding. You will be able to view your wedding slideshow from your honeymoon and relive your wedding day the following week! You will also be able to select one photo to be printed on your event cards. If you hire us as your wedding photographer, you will be able to sit back and relax on your wedding day. We really have thought of everything, concerning your photography, that is.

Event Cards?

How your wedding photographer makes it so easy on you

As your wedding photographer, we will also include complimentary event cards that have one of your wedding photos along with your unique Pictage website address printed right on the card. Pictage is a website where you and your friends and family can view (proof) all of your wedding pictures. All of your friends and family will not only be able to view your photographs, they will also have the option to order any prints that they desire. Pictage takes care of processing, payment, printing, and shipping of all print orders from your wedding. This means that you won't be responsible for getting pictures to your family. As your Arizona wedding photographer, we will take care of this for you. We usually send these cards out to you about 2 weeks after your wedding so that you can insert them into your thank you cards. This will tell each and every person that you send a card to, exactly where to go to view your wedding photos, and eventually purchase any prints if they would like to do so. We said eventually because it takes us a little while to make your wedding pictures look amazing! Once we finish up with the post processing, which usually takes about 4-6 weeks after your wedding, we will upload the final collection to Pictage. Here is a sample of an event card:

You will get a disc of your wedding photos

What you can and can't do with your disc

We include a disc of digital images for almost every wedding or event that we photograph. We will usually try to deliver some professionally printed photographs before we deliver the disc. This is so you have a few prints that look exactly the way that we intended them to look. Before we made this decision, we delivered the disc to our clients as soon as we were finished processing them. But we found that many of our clients were taking their discs to places that have cheap, poorly calibrated printers to have their wedding photographs printed and they didn't look right. This makes us look like amateur photographers, not professional wedding photographers. The disc that we deliver contains a complete collection of processed photographs from your event in addition to a limited copyright license. This license gives the owner of the disc permission to make a copy of the disc for backup puposes only. This is the part where we tell you what you can't do with your disc. You cannot make a copy of your disc to give to anyone else. We charge $500 for each additional disc so please do not make copies for anything other than backup purposes. The license does permit the owner to make any prints that they would like by using the images on the disc. This means that you can take your disc to Target and have 12 cent 4x6's printed up if you want. DISCLAIMER: We don't recommend that you do this, but we aren't going to tell you that you can't. Please ask us where we recommend having your prints made!!
